Boating

  • With our john boats your are able to row, row, row your boat.  Although it is slower it is much more relaxing,
touring around the harbor at your leisure.  The
requirement of, ALL, having to wear a life jacket will insure
you and your fellow campers will be safe and enjoy your
    outing.

Canoing

  • These little streamline crafts will satisfy the "speedster" in anyone.  Canoes move very very fast, which make them
unstable for the inexperienced.  Fortunately our canoes float and
with life jackets (required) just chug-a-lug back to the bank.
Canoe races have always provided great entertainment. I would
not take billfolds, purses or anything else you don't want to get
    wet on your boat trip.

Archery

  • The archery range is very popular.  We expect because it brings out the kids in all of us.  With turkey, deer, bear and
regular targets, it is great fun for kids and adults alike.

Volleyball

  • For some reason this is our most competitive sport.  I suppose everyone has a   "champion volleyball player" with-in
'em.  Some forget they are "long in the tooth" and some
forget they are not.  Something about volleyball that brings
out the sportsman in all of us. The camp has courts in all
three camping areas.  Volleyball tournaments have
always been a very popular activity during camping.

Horseshoes

  • Remember the simple enjoyment of throwing a ringer?  If not, you need to experience it or experience it again ("What
Is Old Is Now New Again")!  After a few throws no one can
stop you.  We have all you need to set up numerous
    Horseshoe pits throughout the camp.

Swimming

  • Swimming from May through September is so refreshing you might consider our camp a "Spa".  Well .....?   Goddard has
two docks  with roped off swimming areas.  The requirement of
"certified" lifeguards on duty at all times, insures everyone is
safe.  Campers can  provide their own lifeguard or the camp has
a list of local "certified" lifeguards that can be used.  Verification
of certification is required and must be approved by staff prior to
    swimming.

Water Front

  • Water volleyball; or skiing; or boating; or what ever; the Lake of the Arbuckles is a great 3500 acre lake
experience with plenty of room for all.  Some groups bring
their ski boats and equipment and develop a great ski
    program.

  • Churches have used the Lake of the Arbuckles" for their
baptisms.  On the water services add a kind of  "realism"
    to the occasion.

Hiking Trails

  • The Goddard Youth Camp has a unique ecosystem, in that their are four that merge within the camp.  Rather you are
walking through the forest, overlooking plains, climbing the
(once) 15,000 high mountains or wading in the streams, "you will
have arrived".  A one hour walk, along these beautiful trails,  will
remind all of us the "Wonders of Our Creator."

Camping

  • We probably should not forget the most important of all "camping."  Sitting by a memorizing campfire and reminiscing
about the days of "when," is one of the most enjoyable times at
Goddard.  This, we feel, is the time that our visitors actually "fall"
    for our camp.
