This little lady was on her way to lay her
eggs.  We detoured her to give a
Lewisville School a "Close Up" look at
one of natures elusive creatures.  She
probably lives in one of the camp's
lagoons and returned there after laying
her eggs.  We named her "Snappy."
This fellow was probably out looking for
"Snappy" after she did not return soon
enough (because we detained her).  We
did not get close enough to name this
fellow, he look pretty scary.  So maybe
"Scary" would be appropriate.
This turtle was a little reluctant to come
out of its shell (left).  After a little patience
we could see its neck extended
completely  (right).  An Ada, Oklahoma
school camper snapped these great
shots.
Well if the one above is the prettiest then
this one may be the ugliest, or at the very
least the most unusual of the turtles.
One of the most colorful and some say the
prettiest of all the turtles.
